Guide, part meditation and part fiction, addresses some of Enrique Martínez Celaya’s questions and thoughts about the meaning and purpose of art and its connection to life and values. The book is structured as a conversation between an old Franciscan and the artist as they drive north on the Pacific Coast Highway.

Guide is a limited edition artist’s book, signed and numbered by the artist. Each book is specially handbound as two hardcover volumes enclosed in a slipcase. Volume I contains the conversation between the artist and his mentor, and Volume II contains a suite of ten original black and white photographs documenting the journey along the California coast.
